Development tools
A focused app-building environment, not a general-purpose chatbot.
AI-assisted app generation
Describe screens, features and behavior. Connect an AI endpoint to generate starter code from your requirements.
Code workspace
Edit Kotlin, Gradle and Android manifest files in a lightweight, single-page workspace.
Android project export
Export a source bundle that can be opened and built in Android Studio with the Android SDK.
Recent projects
Your projects are stored in this browser until exported.
My projects
Create and manage Android app source projects. Project data is saved locally in this browser.
Your next idea,
on Android.
A starting point for your app. Describe what you want and generate a project.
A clean native-app concept
Design concept preview. Use Build & export → Device & USB to launch a real emulator or mirror a connected Android phone.
Visual Designer
Build a screen by adding components, selecting them, and editing their properties. Apply the design to your Kotlin Compose source when you are ready.
COMPONENTS
SCREEN TREE
Select an item in the screen tree or on the canvas to edit it.
Design preview with editable generated Kotlin source. Launch a real AVD from Build & export → Device & USB.
PROPERTIES
Select a component to inspect its properties.
Build & export
Generate a real APK or AAB through a connected Android build worker, or export a complete source project for Android Studio.
Generate source
Use App Studio to scaffold Kotlin/Java, manifest, layout and Gradle files.
Export project
Download a ZIP containing the source files and build configuration. Open it in Android Studio.
Compile APK / AAB
Run Gradle with an installed Android SDK, test on an emulator/device, and sign release builds.
Build APK / AAB on your laptop
Blot designs the app in the browser. Your laptop hardware compiles the real Android APK using the Local Build Companion (Android SDK + Gradle on this computer). Start the companion, paste its token, then build.
How it works (like Android Studio, split in two):
1) Design & edit in this website
2) Companion on your laptop runs Gradle with your SDK
3) Download APK or install straight to a USB phone
Click Use local companion → download ZIP → run it → paste token → Test service. Offline companion fails in a few seconds with clear instructions — buttons never stay stuck.
Build on this user's own computer
Install the companion once on your laptop. It uses your CPU, Android SDK, and Gradle to compile full apps — the same role Android Studio’s build system plays, controlled from this website.
Endpoint: http://127.0.0.1:4318/build — Start the companion first, paste its token below, click Test service. If the browser blocks localhost from HTTPS, allow “local network access” when prompted. Keep the companion terminal open while building.
Real Android device over USB
Connect an Android phone with a data-capable USB cable, enable Developer options → USB debugging, and approve the computer prompt. Then build and install the debug APK directly on that phone.
Mirror opens a desktop window using scrcpy (must be installed). APK installation is Android-only; a Lightning cable cannot install Android APKs on an iPhone.
Run a real Android emulator
Use an Android Virtual Device (AVD) created in Android Studio Device Manager. Launching opens the real emulator application on this computer, separate from the browser preview.
Install Android Emulator and create an AVD in Android Studio first. The browser cannot embed a full Android OS by itself.
Build service settings
Use your own HTTPS backend that accepts the documented JSON payload and returns a job status or an artifact. Do not put a private production secret in a public HTML page.
Expected POST body: {"project":{"name":"...","package":"...","files":{"app/src/main/...":"..."}},"buildType":"debugApk", "releaseAab", or "installDebug"}. Immediate response can contain {"status":"success","downloadUrl":"https://...","filename":"app-debug.apk"} or {"status":"building","jobId":"..."}. Job status is polled at the same endpoint with ?jobId=ID. The service must enforce authentication, file/path validation, resource limits and isolated builds.
Local build commands
Open the exported folder in Android Studio and allow Gradle sync. This starter export does not bundle the Gradle wrapper; use Android Studio or install a compatible Gradle/JDK/Android SDK.
gradle assembleDebug # APK: app/build/outputs/apk/debug/app-debug.apk gradle bundleRelease # AAB: app/build/outputs/bundle/release/app-release.aab
This browser-only page does not compile an APK itself. Compilation requires Android build tools or a connected build service.
AI connection
Connect a model endpoint to enable app-code generation. This replaces the old chatbot with an in-workspace app-generation workflow.
Model endpoint
Configure an OpenAI-compatible chat-completions endpoint supplied by your AI provider or your own backend.
Security: keys entered here are used by this page in your browser and are not sent to Blot by this UI. Browser-side keys can be exposed to anyone with access to the device or developer tools. For production, proxy requests through your own server and keep secrets server-side.
Recommended production architecture
For a reliable public service at code.blotverse.com, connect this interface to a backend that authenticates users, rate-limits requests, stores projects and securely calls the model provider.
